Fire kills two kids in Paris
Paris, A fire in a northern suburb of Paris killed two children Sunday while 19 other people suffered from suffocation, a media report said.
Two brothers aged between six and 10 were found dead after a fire broke out at their home in Saint-Denis, Xinhua reported citing local BFM TV.
Around 150 people were evacuated from the seven-storey building. All the affected people were sent to hospital.

Police stopped Strauss-Kahn in Paris park notorious for transvestite prostitutes: French minister
Paris, Shamed former International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn was stopped by police while they were trying to ‘clean up’ a Paris park notorious for transvestite prostitutes, a French minister has claimed.
Frances Interior Minister Claude Gueant said officers patrolling the Bois du Boulogne spoke to Strauss-Kahn five years ago.
Gueant told the Journal du Dimanche newspaper that no action was taken in the matter.
“But there was no action taken over this matter. He wasn''t framed by the police. He was not being followed. After all, it''s not the police''s fault if he was there that night,” he said.
According to the Daily Mail, Strauss-Kahn admitted that he had been stopped by police in the park, which is near his home, but said that he was with his wife, the former TV presenter Anne Sinclair.

Rs 2.28 cr for vets under zila parishads
Bathinda, January 24 (DNS)- The Department of Rural Development and Panchayats, Punjab, has allotted a budget to the tune of Rs 2,28,59,136 for giving a package to rural veterinary medical officers (veterinary doctors) working under zila parishads in all 20 districts of the state, for January and February. At present, 419 veterinary doctors have been working in the rural veterinary dispensaries throughout the state.
As per the allotment of the budget, Rs 17.68 lakh has been allotted to Amritsar district for 34 veterinary doctors. Likewise, Rs 14.56 lakh has been allotted to Bathinda district for 28 veterinary doctors. The amount of budget allotted to other districts is- Rs 16.34 lakh for 32 veterinary doctors of Gurdaspur district, Rs 10.12 lakh for 21 veterinary doctors of Patiala district, Rs 15.39 lakh for 24 veterinary doctors of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Rs 8.32 lakh for 16 veterinary doctors of Moga district, Rs 16.64 lakh for 32 veterinary doctors of Sangrur district, Rs 14.04 lakh for 27 veterinary doctors of Ludhiana district, Rs 5.72 lakh for 11 veterinary doctors of Faridkot district, Rs 3.64 lakh for seven veterinary doctors of Barnala district and Rs 19.24 lakh ...
