Canadian school bans footballs and baseballs from playground
Washington, A school in Toronto, Canada has banned soccer balls, baseballs, footballs, tennis balls and volleyballs from the school grounds.
This step taken up by the Earl Beatty Public School has angered both students and parents.
According to the Toronto Star, the School sent letters to the parents stating that nobody could bring any of the balls to the junior and senior schools after a series of serious incidents, where both staff and students were struck in the playground.
The temporary ban means only Nerf balls or sponge balls can be used by students at the school for now on.
School trustee Sheila Cary-Meagher said that the most recent incident was that of a parent, who was hit in the head by a soccer ball and suffered a concussion.
“I think the principal is reacting in a rational way. You don’t want anyone to be injured,” Fox News quoted Cary-Meagher as saying.
Anna Caputo, a communications officer at the Toronto District School Board, said the ban was temporary and that the school would monitor the situation ... Read Full Story

The SC advocate also said the November ‘84 Carnage Justice Committee filed public interest litigation (PIL) in the Delhi High Court requesting it to constitute a monitoring committee for the anti-Sikh riots on the pattern of the same by the SC for the Gujarat riots.
Accompanied by advocate Navkiran Singh and Peer Mohammad, Phoolka said 80 per cent of the anti-Sikh riot victims who stayed back in Delhi were back on their feet through hard work, whereas the case of those who had migrated to Punjab was totally reverse. The SC advocate said only 20 per cent of the riot victims who migrated to Punjab were properly rehabilitated. Responding to a query, he said every government, including the present SAD-BJP government, was responsible for not taking adequate measures to properly rehabilitate the victims.
