Bengaluru Police Arrest Man for Posting AI-Generated Video of Fake Vidhana Soudha Blast

Bengaluru: Police have arrested 25-year-old Hazrat Ali, a migrant worker from Bihar, for allegedly posting an AI-generated video on Instagram showing a bomb blast destroying Vidhana Soudha. No actual explosion took place at the building.
The video combined real footage of a man gesturing outside the building with fake explosion effects. Its caption claimed that the legislative assembly building had been blown up.
Police traced the Instagram account using IP logs and registered a case under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to causing public alarm. Ali was taken into custody while investigators examine his motive for creating and posting the video.
Officials warned that such fake content could cause unnecessary fear and panic around important government buildings.
