No Change in LPG Refill Booking Rules: Government Dismisses Viral Claims

The Government of India has issued a clarification dismissing recent news reports and social media claims suggesting changes in LPG refill booking timelines.
According to the official statement released on March 25, 2026, no revisions have been made to the existing rules. Reports claiming new limits—such as 45 days for PMUY connections, 25 days for non-PMUY single cylinder users, and 35 days for double cylinder consumers—are incorrect and misleading.
The government reiterated that the current LPG refill booking timelines remain unchanged. Consumers can continue to book refills after 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas, regardless of the type of connection.
Authorities have urged citizens not to believe or spread such misinformation, warning that it may lead to unnecessary panic and avoidable booking rushes.
The government also assured that there is no shortage of LPG in the country. Adequate stock is available to meet consumer demand, and there is no reason for concern.
