LPU Student Protest: The administration of Punjab’s Lovely Professional University (LPU) attempted to calm the growing controversy surrounding rumours of a rape incident by releasing a clarification video. However, the issue escalated further after the students shown in the video later came forward and alleged that they had been told what to say and that their statements were used without their knowledge or consent.

Amid the protests, Registrar Dr. Monica Gulati addressed the students through a video. In the same video, she showed three female students who were staying in Room No. 504 of Girls Hostel 3 (GH3), the room mentioned in the allegations. The students denied that any such incident had taken place there.

University Releases Video of Students from Room No. 504

In the video, Dr. Gulati said, “I want you to hear what the girls staying in Room No. 504 of GH3 told us.”

The first student said, “I live in Room No. 504. Nothing like this happened in our room; we have been staying here for the past two months. Please, police and students, do not harass us. Nothing like this happened in our room, and we are not involved in it at all.”
