India has won a medal in the men’s marathon event at the Asian Games after 44 years. Sawan Barwal clinched the silver medal with a timing of 2 hours, 11 minutes and 37 seconds.

India had previously won a medal in the men’s marathon at the 1982 Asian Games in Delhi, where it secured a bronze medal in the event.

Barwal’s silver medal has taken India’s overall medal tally to 24. The tally includes two gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze medals. India is currently placed 12th in the medal standings.

India could win two gold medals in kabaddi at the Asian Games today. The Indian women’s and men’s teams will face Iran in their respective finals.

The women’s kabaddi final will begin at 9:30 AM, while the men’s final is scheduled to start at 2:30 PM.
