Punjabi Singer-Actor Rajvir Jawanda Dies at 35 After Road Accident

Mohali: In a heartbreaking development, renowned Punjabi singer and actor Rajvir Jawanda passed away at the age of 35 on October 8, 2025, at Fortis Hospital, Mohali. He had been on life support since September 27, following a serious road accident near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh.
 

According to the hospital’s official statement, Jawanda sustained severe spinal injuries and brain damage after his motorcycle collided with stray cattle that appeared suddenly on the road. Despite aggressive treatment by the Critical Care and Neurosurgery teams, he showed minimal brain activity and eventually succumbed to multiple organ failure at 10:55 AM.

Jawanda, a resident of Sector 71, Mohali, rose to fame with hit songs like “Surname”, “Kamla”, “Mera Dil”, “Sardari” and more. He began his music career in 2014 with the single "Munda Like Me", and quickly became known for his voice and lyrics that celebrated Punjabi culture and pride.
 

Apart from music, he also made a mark in Punjabi cinema with performances in films such as “Jind Jaan”, “Mindo Taseeldarni”, “Kaka Ji”, and “Subedar Joginder Singh”. As per his official Apple Music biography, Jawanda initially aspired to be a police officer, but chose music as his true calling.
 

The news of his untimely demise has left fans and the Punjabi entertainment world in deep mourning. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had visited the hospital a day before his passing to inquire about his condition.
 

Hailing from Pona village in Ludhiana’s Jagraon, Rajvir Jawanda will be remembered as a proud voice of Punjab, who left behind a rich legacy in both music and cinema.
