Vatrukh Foundation Organises Awareness Workshops on Menstrual Hygiene and Women’s Health

Doraha, Decmber,23 Amrish Anand — Personal hygiene and proper care during menstruation are extremely important for women; however, these issues are often neglected in society as they are still considered taboo. With the aim of changing this mindset and creating awareness among women and girls, the Vatrukh Foundation organised awareness workshops on menstrual hygiene and women’s health.The workshops were conducted by Vatrukh Foundation Director Ms. Samita Kaur at Nankana Sahib School, Village Rampur (Ludhiana), and at Satnam Nagar, Doraha. During the sessions, detailed information was shared on maintaining hygiene during menstruation, menstrual health–related issues, proper nutrition, and overall care.Addressing the participants, Ms. Samita Kaur emphasized that correct education and open discussion about menstruation are essential so that girls and women feel confident to ask questions and are able to overcome prevailing myths and misconceptions in society. She stressed that menstruation is a natural and integral part of life and should not be regarded as a taboo.The workshops received an encouraging response from students and women participants. They described the initiative as highly informative and beneficial, and expressed the need for organizing similar awareness programmes in the future as well.
