New Delhi, October 22, 2026: Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) Chairperson Sonia Gandhi made her Instagram debut on Thursday, sharing the first look of her memoir, Belonging: A Journey of Love. The book is scheduled for release on November 10, 2026.

In her first post on @soniagandhi, she wrote: “Hello everyone, I’m truly grateful to share this moment with you all: the first look of Belonging: A Journey of Love. It is a story of love, duty, loss and finding a place to belong. I look forward to sharing it with you.”

The accompanying video shows Gandhi receiving copies of the book at her New Delhi office. She unwraps a copy and turns its pages, pausing at childhood photographs of her children, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. She is also seen sharing sweets with Priyanka, a Congress MP.

The post quickly attracted thousands of followers to her account. Gandhi follows just three profiles: Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and the official Indian National Congress page.

A 544-Page Account of Her Life

The 544-page memoir explores love, duty, loss and the search for belonging. It traces Gandhi’s journey from her childhood in post-war Italy to her meeting with Rajiv Gandhi in Cambridge in 1965 and their marriage.

The book also covers her adjustment to life in India as a member of the Nehru-Gandhi family and the personal tragedies that shaped her path into public life. Her recollections offer a personal perspective on a life closely connected with India’s modern history.

Belonging: A Journey of Love is being published by HarperCollins India, with Alfred A. Knopf handling the global edition.

For Gandhi, who has maintained a low profile on social media, the Instagram debut provides another platform to share her memories with readers. Updates about the book will be shared through her @soniagandhi account.
