Mann Government Sets Another Milestone by Ending Inspector Raj to Build 'Rangla Punjab'. Adv. Rajinder Pal Anand:

Patiala June 6 (Anand) – Today, Shri Rajinder Pal Anand, former DSP, Advocate, State President of Punjab Police Family Welfare Association, and Senior Vice President of Khatri Mahasabha Punjab, issued a statement praising the Mann government for taking another historic step toward creating a vibrant 'Rangla Punjab' by ending the era of "Inspector Raj."Shri Rajinder Pal Anand said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishment Act was recently amended to abolish the outdated Inspector Raj system. He said this significant step taken in the public interest has been widely appreciated by business owners and workers alike. With the amendment of this 1958 Act, now shops and commercial establishments employing fewer than 20 workers will no longer fall under the Labor Act's purview. This change brings major relief to traders and employees, easing their longstanding difficulties.Additionally, the overtime work limit has been raised from 50 hours to 144 hours over three months. This will allow workers to work more than nine hours a day and earn double wages for overtime. Furthermore, provisions now ensure fair justice in the case of penalties.Advocate Anand further stated that the Mann government is taking new steps every day to transform Punjab into a vibrant state. In the education sector, an education revolution is underway. A strong campaign against drugs has been launched to combat narcotics, forcing drug smugglers and sellers to flee the state. Properties acquired through illegal drug trade are being demolished, and massive efforts are underway to provide treatment to addicted youth to help them recover. The Mann government has also generated significant employment opportunities for youth. By establishing a Road Safety Force, Punjab has become the first state in India to do so, taking the lead in this crucial area.Praising Sh.Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, Mr. Anand expressed confidence that the people of Ludhiana, recognizing the positive work done by the Mann government in the last three years, will overwhelmingly elect Aam Aadmi Party candidate Shri Sanjeev Arora in the upcoming by-election on June 19.He said the Mann government has done in a short span what previous governments failed to do in 70 years. Through its anti-corruption campaign, the government has taken strict action against corrupt elements and is working to uproot corruption from its very foundation. Because of these initiatives, the people of Punjab are widely praising the Mann government. In view of the Mann government’s commendable performance over the past three years, the Punjab Police Family Welfare Association has announced its unconditional support for the Aam Aadmi Party in the upcoming Ludhiana by-election.
