Burj Khalifa UPI: UPI Payments Now Accepted for Online Bookings at Burj Khalifa and Resorts World Sentosa

Indian tourists travelling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Singapore can now make online bookings at two major tourist destinations using the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, UPI payments have been enabled for bookings at Burj Khalifa's 'At the Top' observation deck in the UAE and Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore.

Indian travellers planning visits to these popular international attractions can now use their preferred UPI apps to make online payments and complete bookings conveniently. The move is aimed at making international travel planning easier by reducing currency-related hassles for Indian tourists.

UPI Facility at Burj Khalifa and Resorts World Sentosa

NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), the international arm of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), announced strategic partnerships with the UAE and Singapore on July 29, 2026, and September 9, 2026, respectively, to enable UPI payments for online bookings.

In the UAE, UPI payment acceptance has been enabled for Burj Khalifa's 'At the Top' through a partnership with NEOPAY and Emaar Entertainment.

In Singapore, the UPI payment facility has been extended to Resorts World Sentosa in collaboration with FOMO Pay, a leading payment institution. This development follows Singapore welcoming 1.2 million Indian tourists during 2025.

UPI Available at Major International Tourist Attractions

The integration of UPI for online purchases at globally recognised destinations such as Burj Khalifa's 'At the Top' and Resorts World Sentosa is expected to address the growing demand for reliable cross-border payment options.

Resorts World Sentosa includes popular attractions such as Universal Studios Singapore, Singapore Oceanarium and Adventure Cove Waterpark. Indian visitors can use UPI for online bookings at these destinations as part of the expanded payment facility.

The initiative strengthens the digital and economic connections between India, the UAE and Singapore, providing Indian travellers with access to familiar, secure and convenient payment options.

UPI Payment Facility Already Available in Several Countries

Earlier, on January 26, 2024, ticketing through India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) was launched for the Eiffel Tower in France.

Indian travellers can currently use UPI for convenient overseas payments in Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, France, Mauritius, Nepal, Bhutan, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and Greece.

Uzbekistan is set to become the 11th country on this list following a business agreement signed on August 30, 2026, during the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India's visit to Uzbekistan.
