Three Arrested Over Alleged Sexual Assault of 13-Year-Old Girl in Greater Faridabad

Faridabad: Faridabad Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in Greater Faridabad. The minor was allegedly assaulted in front of her friend inside a dilapidated building. An FIR was registered at the BPTP Police Station on September 29.

According to a complaint filed by the victim’s parents, their 13-year-old daughter went to meet her 16-year-old friend after leaving her tuition class on August 24. Six youths allegedly followed them to a dilapidated building, threatened them and sexually assaulted the girl.

A senior police officer said the two minors did not tell their parents about the incident for nearly a month. Their families became concerned after they began showing signs of severe mental distress.

The girl later told her mother about the alleged incident, following which the family approached the police and filed a complaint.

It was also alleged that the girl’s friend was sexually assaulted by the accused. However, police have denied this allegation.

According to a spokesperson for Faridabad Police, an FIR for rape was registered at the BPTP Police Station on September 29 based on the complaint. Police, however, said the allegation of gang rape has not yet been confirmed.

Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the case and are being questioned. Police said a detailed investigation is underway and further facts will become clear as the probe progresses.
