West Asia conflict creates new challenges for air connectivity between the two countries: Randhir Jaiswal

India said on Friday that it continues to facilitate the supply of life-saving medicines to Iran. The statement came amid reports claiming that Iranian aircraft had not been allowed to use Indian airspace. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the ongoing conflict in West Asia had created new challenges for air connectivity between India and Iran. “We are facilitating the supply of life-saving medicines to Iran and will continue to do so. As you know, the ongoing conflict in this region has created new challenges for air connectivity between our two countries,” he said. Jaiswal was asked about reports claiming that India had refused permission for some Iranian aircraft to transit through its airspace. Responding to the question, he said, “On humanitarian grounds, we are in constant contact with Iranian authorities to ensure the movement of life-saving medicines.”
