Voter Awareness Lecture Organized at Govt. College, Ludhiana East

Ludhiana, August 24 Amrish Anand : *Under the leadership of DDO/Principal Prof. (Dr.) Gursharanjit Singh, a Voter Awareness Lecture was organized at Government College, Ludhiana East to encourage students to apply for Voter Card and understand their rights as a voter.Councillor Mrs. Nidhi Gupta was the Chief Guest of the event, while renowned social worker Mr. Abhishek Gupta was present as Guest of Honour. Officiating Principal Prof. Kamal Kishore formally welcomed the guests.Addressing the students, Chief Guest Mrs. Nidhi Gupta said that every student who has attained the age of 18 years must get their Voter Card made. She emphasized that the Right to Vote is the most powerful right given by the Constitution of India.Mr. Abhishek Gupta explained the benefits of having a Voter Card, stating that it is not only an important document for exercising franchise but also a valid proof of identity. He also guided the students about the online and offline procedure to apply for a new Voter Card.On this occasion,Prof. Preet Kamal and Prof. Manpreet Kaur and Dr. Deepak Kumar as well* were present and contributed to the successful organization of the event.The lecture proved to be very informative and inspiring for the students. A large number of students and faculty members were present on the occasion.
