An 18-Year Journey Towards a Unique Identity:-Rangkarmi Sapandeep is a name that needs no introduction in the world of theatre today. Over the past 18 year she has carved a distinct and respected identity for herself on the stage. When she began her journey more than a decade ago, few could have imagined that she would one day emerge as a prominent and influential figure in the field of theatre.
Turning Life’s Struggles into Artistic Strength:- Despite facing numerous personal challenges in her life, Sapandeep never allowed them to affect her professional commitment. She embraced every phase of life—both joyful and difficult—with courage and optimism, always living by the spirit of “Long live life.” This positive outlook is clearly reflected in her performances as well as in her writings, which resonate with honesty, sensitivity, and emotional depth.
Dedication and Integrity in Every Creative Role:- Whether it is acting, direction, or writing, Sapandeep is known for her passion, sincerity, and artistic integrity. Her dedication to her craft is often cited as an example by fellow artists. In every field she has worked in, she has left a lasting and memorable impression.
From Youth Festivals to the Theatre Stage:-Sapandeep’s journey in theatre began during her college years through youth festivals. She achieved remarkable success by winning the Best Actress Award for three consecutive years at the zonal youth festivals. According to her, theatre is not just a profession but a lifelong commitment, one she intends to pursue until her last breath.
A Career Decorated with Awards and Honors
Over the years, Rangkarmi Sapandeep has received numerous awards and recognitions for her contribution to theatre and culture. She has been honored with the Best Actor Award by Greying Roots Academy, Best Director Awards from Punrajot I Bank Society and Jai Kanhaiya Singh Memorial Trust, and special honors from Ludhiana Kala Manch and Punjabi Sahitya Academy. She has also received the Mrs. Sneh Prabha Shukla Award from Punjabi Sahitya Kala Manch and recognition from Nari Shakti Sangathan for her outstanding contribution to art and literature. Additionally, she has been awarded Best Actor of Ramila by Dainik Mahabharat and several other theatre organizations.
More Than Fifty Powerful Stage Performances:- With nearly 17–18 years of experience in theatre, Rangkarmi Sapandeep has performed in more than 50 plays, bringing a wide range of characters to life. Some of her notable productions include Ghar Gum Hai, Operation Cloud Burst, Ali Ki Chitthi, 15 August, Pinjra, Dastaanen (based on the stories of Saadat Hasan Manto), Tamasha, Rishta, Jaal, Gagan Damama Bajiyo, Radhe Radhe Hum Sab Aadhe, Picnic on the Battlefield, Mera Yaar Kartar Singh Sarabha, Yeh Bhi Hissa Hai, Apne Apne Daav, and Permission Kamagata Maru. Alongside acting, she has remained actively engaged as a director for nearly two decades.
Collaboration with Renowned Theatre Groups:- Sapandeep has worked with several prestigious theatre groups, including Ludhiana Kala Manch, Beehive Theatre Group, Satya Group of Theatre, Ehsaas Theatre Group, Nakaab Theatre Group, Parwaaz Theatre Group, Sacred Dramatic Club, Sandhan Theatre, and the Indian People’s Theatre Association (IPTA).
Expanding Horizons in MumbaiBeyond theatre :- Rangkarmi Sapandeep explored opportunities in Mumbai, where she worked in television serials and fashion shows. She also served as an Assistant Director in films produced under the banners of Dharma Productions and N Eve Productions. In addition, she has worked as a dubbing artist for films, television serials, commercials, and telefilms. Her notable telefilm work includes Maa and Dukh Pardesna De Dastak Karme. She has also contributed to various music projects.
Learning from the Best in Theatre and Cinema:-Sapandeep has had the opportunity to work alongside renowned film and television artists such as Bijender Kala, Kabir Bisnoi, Shravani Goswami, Imran Hasmi, Kapil Sharma, Chandan Prabhakar, Kiku Sharda, Anjali Tatrari, and Chetan Sharma. She has also collaborated with actors and directors associated with the National School of Drama, Madhya Pradesh School of Drama, and Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, from whom she learned the finer nuances of theatre and cinema.
A Lifelong Learner Devoted to Theatre:- Sapandeep firmly believes that there is no age or time limit for learning. According to her, the moment learning stops, growth also comes to an end. Having dedicated her entire life to theatre, she remains deeply committed to the stage and continues to serve it with unwavering passion and devotion.
